Which web browser should I use for the online school?
The HillsClerk Academy is optimized for the best experience on Google Chrome. While it will also work on Internet Explorer version 11, some components do not display as well in Internet Explorer, especially older versions. Google Chrome is allowed on all Clerk computers. You can open up Google Chrome and enter this link for the school https://hillsclerk.thinkific.com/ then save it to the Chrome bookmarks. If you cannot find Google Chrome installed on your computer, please contact the ServiceDesk. They might have to install it for you.

Some components of the school do not display right in Internet Explorer
Please read the FAQ on "Which web browser should I use for the online school?" first. If you still only want to use Internet Explorer version 11 to access the online school, you will resolve the problem with that text overlay/bleed issue by changing the zoom settings in Internet Explorer to 50% while you are on the online school website. Here is how you change the zoom in Internet Explorer: > Open up Internet Explorer Tools by either (a) typing Alt and X at the same time, or by (b) going to the gear icon on the upper right corner of your browser screen. > In the pop up, click on Zoom, and a slide out will appear. Click on 50%. That's it. You will see the online school become more compact in your browser window and the overlay/bleed problem will go away. We still recommend Google Chrome for the best student experience, though.

Why can't I view my certificate of completion?
Your certificate of completion is triggered when you complete all of the training content. If you skip around out of order or use the left column to navigate through the course, your viewing of that content might not register. If you do not see a green check mark to the right of the lesson you are in, you still have work to do in that lesson (like view the video to the end, or scroll down and look at the entire PDF file). To move on to the next lesson, use the green "CLICK NEXT TO CONTINUE" button only at the bottom right of the lesson window; do not use any navigation on the left side of the course. And try not to rush to click the button after a video finishes playing. It may have a few seconds left to it that are blank but the school still registers it as playing. Just be a bit patient, especially with the video lessons, and let them finish before moving on to the next screen or next lesson.

How do I see what courses I have taken or what courses I have registered for?
As long as you have signed in to the school, you will have a link on the bottom of every page that says "Student Dashboard." Your student dashboard will let you see the courses you are enrolled in, which ones you have completed, and let you download the certificate for it, if you didn't do so already.

When can I take online training?
Clerk employees are permitted to take online training during the course of their work day and when permitted by operational needs. Courses may not be taken during non-business hours, paid time off, lunch or overtime.

General troubleshooting steps for technical difficulties
1. Clear cache and restart the browser. Also check if you’re using the newest version of the browser. 2. Try a different browser (Google Chrome is best) 3. Try an Incognito / Private Window (this will rule out an issue with browser extensions) 4. Restart the computer (yes, we always say that but sometimes it works!) 5. If possible, try a different computer. If none of these work to resolve your problem, send a screen capture (or several screen captures) of what is happening to [email protected], along with a detailed description of what is occurring, what browser you are using (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, what version of Internet Explorer) and what page or course you are in when this is happening.

Forgotten your password?
Please do not use the site's Forgot Password link. Our security setting don't seem to allow students to receive the reset email. Instead, email [email protected], and someone will email you a temporary password, then you can change it in your student dashboard to one that you will remember after you get back in.
